PREVENTIVE: It decreases lipogenesis, which is fundamentally carried out by an inhibition of the glucose transporter inside the adipocyte (Glut4) and an inhibition of the synthesis of intra adipocyte fatty acids, which contributes to the decrease of substrates for the synthesis of triglycerides and therefore reduces the formation of new fatty acids.

TREATMENT: Activates lipolysis through a direct stimulation of hormone sensitive lipase and an inhibition of phosphodiesterase, with a consequent intra adipocyte increase of cAMP, thus increasing the rate of triglyceride degradation in adipose cells and therefore reducing the amount of existing fat.

MAINTENANCE: Adipogenesis decreases, this is carried out fundamentally by an inhibition of perilipin activity, which allows a higher activity of Hormone Sensitive Lipase at the adipocyte vacuole level. Likewise, the activity of Caveolin, responsible for the conformation of membrane receptors and of the Glut4 transporter, are inhibited, which would alter the inclusion of glucose into the cellular interior and consequently restrict the maturation of the pre-adipocyte, thus serving to prevent the maturation of new adipose cells.
